Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos are engaged

A source close to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and his partner Lauren Sanchez have announced their engagement to the media.

There were no further specifics about the proposal or the upcoming wedding known at the time.

In 2019, Bezos and Sánchez, a philanthropist and former television journalist, first made their relationship known to the public. With the exception of being photographed at various events, Bezos and Sánchez have largely kept specifics of their relationship private since they started dating.

The couple gave their first joint sit-down interview to the media in 2022, when they discussed their charitable efforts to deliberately donate Bezos's enormous riches to a number of causes.

Regarding their humanitarian endeavours, Sánchez informed the media that they make "really great teammates," but that they can sometimes be "kind of boring."

Bezos continued by calling the Emmy-winning journalist "an inspiration" and calling her "the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet."

The billionaire was on a 2021 trip into space and back on Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket. He is also the creator of the space company.

Sánchez, a former helicopter pilot, informed the media that she also has ambitions to travel to space in the near future and that she will be accompanied by "a great group of females."

Bezos previously shared four children with MacKenzie Scott, with whom he was married for 25 years. Sánchez was married to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell for 13 years before formally divorcing him in 2019. Sánchez has three children from prior relationships.
