Pete Davidson Responds to PETA in Leaked Voicemail: A Fiery Exchange Over Dog Adoption

PETA recently singled out comedian Pete Davidson as their primary concern in addressing potential animal rights violations. In an interview with TMZ, PETA's Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations, Daphna Nachminovitch, expressed disappointment in Davidson's decision to purchase a cavapoo puppy instead of adopting, describing it as "tragic." This led to a heated response from Davidson.

In a leaked voicemail obtained by TMZ, Davidson addressed Nachminovitch, explaining his reasons for buying a specific breed of dog. He clarified that he is severely allergic to dogs but found that he could tolerate cavapoos. He also mentioned the recent loss of his mother's dog, which saddened the family and influenced his decision. Davidson's voicemail ended with harsh words directed at Nachminovitch.

PETA, however, did not change its stance despite Davidson's explanation. They issued a statement expressing sympathy for the loss of Davidson's dog but emphasizing that there is no excuse for supporting puppy mills by purchasing dogs when there are millions awaiting adoption in shelters. PETA encouraged Davidson to consider adoption in the future.

PETA also disputed Davidson's claim that there are hypoallergenic dogs, asserting that proper research would reveal otherwise. Davidson countered by stating that he was informed it was a rare option or not available.

In his defense, Davidson acknowledged the harshness of his words but expressed his justification for standing up for himself and his family against PETA's targeted messaging. He mentioned that his family was deeply upset, and he was trying to console them. Davidson also expressed frustration with the pet store for filming him without permission.

While he regretted his choice of words, Davidson made it clear that he stood by his decision to defend his family and himself in the face of PETA's actions.
