Demise of Andrea Evans: Beloved Star of 'One Life to Live' Passes Away at Age 66

The news of her death was shared by casting director Don Carroll, as reported by Deadline. Evans' cause of death was cancer.

Evans gained widespread fame for her portrayal of Tina Lord on One Life to Live, a role she began in 1979. She then made her mark on The Young and the Restless, where she played the character Patty Williams Abbott from 1983 to 1984. In 1999, Evans took on the role of Tawny Moore on The Bold and the Beautiful, and her last appearance in that series was in 2011. (She reprised her character from The Bold and the Beautiful in a single episode of The Young and the Restless in 2010.) She also played Rebecca Hotchkiss on Passions, starting in 2000, and Patty Walker on The Bay, starting in 2017. Prior to her passing, she completed her memoir titled My One Life to Live.

Born in 1957, Evans made her television debut in the miniseries The Awakening Land in 1978. She later guest-starred on CHiPs in 1982. Her other television credits include Capital News and DeVanity.

In addition to her television work, Evans appeared in several films, including A Low Down Dirty Shame, Ice Cream Man, and Hit List. Her most recent credit was her appearance on The Bay in an episode from 2020.

Evans received recognition for her outstanding performances, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. In 1988, she was nominated for Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series for her work on One Life to Live, and in 2015, she received a nomination for Outstanding Performer in a New Approaches Drama Series for her role on DeVanity.

Evans is survived by her husband, Steve Rodriguez, and their daughter.
