Couple Matthew Rutler and Christina Aguilera Make Unexpected Red Carpet Appearance

Over the weekend, Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler made a rare red carpet appearance. 

The 42-year-old singer and the MasterClass boss were pictured together on Saturday at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures' 9th annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. 

Rutler sported a timeless black suit, while Aguilera chose a sheer black dress and a long black trench coat. Even on the red carpet, the couple exchanged kisses. 

Aguilera and Rutler became engaged on Valentine's Day in 2014 after almost four years of dating. Summer Rain Rutler was born later that year. Although Aguilera has a son named Max from her former marriage to Jordan Bratman, Summer is Rutler's first kid.

The singer explained to Women's Health in 2016 that she was not hurrying the couple's nuptials, saying, "We discuss it when we're snuggling in bed, but it's a casual conversation."

The pop sensation recently admitted that she prefers "guy next door" sorts while appearing as a guest on the Call Her Daddy show. 

She admitted that she had never been interested in being forced into a relationship for the sake of notoriety.

"I can't do anything if it's not honest and real to me. Something so intimate can't be compelled, she said.
