Disney's agreements with Reedy Creek are formally declared to be void by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, which Ron DeSantis appointed.

Central Florida Tourism Oversight District | The Walt Disney Company | Ron DeSantis | Central Florida: The February 8, 2023, Development Agreement and Declaration of Restrictive Covenants signed by the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts were deemed invalid and unenforceable by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board of Supervisors during their meeting today.

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District claims that the February 8 agreements are invalid, and last week the board produced pages of legislative findings addressing them.

The new Developer deal, which was signed on February 8 and took effect immediately after the Florida House enacted the legislation to take over the Reedy Creek Improvement District, granted Disney extensive power over the RCID land and barred the new board from altering the deal.

During the meeting, Ron Garcia, the board chair of the newly formed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, remarked, "Disney picked the fight with his board. We had no interest in picking a fight. He continued, "Factually and legally, what they created is an absolute legal mess, and it will not work."

Following today's vote to endorse the findings, the litigation counsel is now instructed to request that Disney's contracts with Reedy Creek be declared null and void and be expunged from the public records of Orange and Osceola Counties.

Disney has not yet made any public remarks regarding these latest developments, and it is yet unknown whether it will contest today's ruling.
