GOSSAMER: Secrets of the Heap, a fresh Horde-based adventure, debuts in Fortnite

Fortnite | Gossamer | Epic Games: With the release of Gossamer: Secrets of the Heap, users of Fortnite may immerse themselves in a completely new experience. This playable version, which is based on the well-known book "Gossamer" by best-selling author Lois Lowry, allows players to visit a Dream Realm where they must fight Nightmares summoned by the Gossamer's immortal adversaries, the Sinisteeds.

The protagonist of Gossamer: Secrets of the Heap is Littlest One, a fairy and aspiring "Gossamer." In this realm, fairies and humans coexist in a dream environment where happy dreams and terrifying nightmares collide. The job of protecting the Gossamers and their kingdom from the evil Nightmares is given to players after they are brought to this Dream Realm.

Users of this horde-based game can play alone or with friends as they battle their way through waves of Nightmare creatures to the "Heap Gate," a portal to a different world. Gossamer, a brand-new island in Fortnite, is an open-world sandbox that gives players a brand-new landscape to explore that is populated with dynamic scenery and fictional characters from the Gossamer universe.

The digital assets for Gossamer: Secrets of the Heap are currently available for creators in the Alpha edition of Epic Games' Fab marketplace. The game was created using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). As a plugin in the Unreal Editor for Fortnite, Fab is a next-generation creator marketplace from Epic Games (UEFN).

This one-of-a-kind playable experience was developed by BRON Digital, a cutting-edge virtual production studio that specialises in animation and interactive video using Epic Games' Unreal Engine. BRON Digital is the first entertainment company to create an animation project in Unreal Engine and use UEFN to publish an interactive experience in Fortnite with Gossamer: Mysteries of the Heap.
