Yellowstone | Kevin Costner: The way Kevin Costner leaves "Yellowstone" might be a little difficult.
The star's abrupt exit from the franchise, according to The Daily Mail, may have been brought on by a disagreement with series creator Taylor Sheridan.
A source claimed that "certain people in charge of the production developed a God complex."
The executive producer was reportedly urged by Costner to "stick to acting" after voicing reservations about the direction the programme was headed. Sheridan, though, ignored Costner's objections.
They added, "Kevin will always be grateful to and proud of 'Yellowstone,' and the cast is like family to him. He was told he should simply stick to acting and that Yellowstone was moving in a route that was not consistent with their original goal.
When the programme was abruptly cancelled, there were initial rumours that Costner sought a lighter shooting load, but his lawyer Marty Singer refuted these assertions.
"As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone above and beyond to ensure its success," he stated at the time.
Despite its enormous success, "Yellowstone" is scheduled to conclude with the second half of its fifth season.
