MoBand Season Ignites with Vibrant Graffiti Summer Theme and Special Appearance by American Graffiti Actress: Do not Miss the Excitement!

American Graffiti • Modesto • Auto show: The Mancini Bowl was "Rockin' and Rollin'"

Thursday night as MoBand kicked off the 2023 summer season with a Graffiti Summer-themed concert.

In keeping with that theme, "American Graffiti" actress Mackenzie Phillips took the stage for a live performance at Graceada Park in Modesto.

Phillips came to town to celebrate Graffiti Summer and the George Lucas film, which celebrates his teenage years in his hometown of Modesto. She was scheduled to participate in the North Modesto Kiwanis American Graffiti Parade on Friday.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the film's 1973 release.

"Rock On" is the theme for this season's MoBand (formally known as the Modesto Band of Stanislaus County).

The free Thursday night concerts run through July 13, beginning at 8 p.m:

June 15: "Musical G.O.A.T.s (greatest of all time)"

June 22: "Hippy Dippy"

June 29: "Patriotic Fury."

July 6: "American Gems."
