Worries Mount as Britney Spears Family Expresses Concerns About Substance Use: Report Raises Comparisons to Amy Winehouse

Britney Spears • Methamphetamine • Kevin Federline • Amy Winehouse:
Britney Spears' family says they fear she will follow the same tragic path as Amy Winehouse.

Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and estranged father, Jamie, told the Daily Mail that they believe the "Toxic" singer is on drugs and may die as a result.

Federline told the magazine, "I keep praying that someone will come out about it and she will wake up." It is horrible. She is the mother of my sons."

Britney could die like Amy," Jamie Spears said, citing British singer Amy Winehouse, who died of alcoholism at age 27.

The dire concern comes more than a year after the much-publicized termination of Spears' conservatorship, which had controlled nearly every aspect of her life.

Spears' sons, Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, still refuse to see her, claiming they saw drugs being delivered to her home, the Mail reported.

Federline, who collects a whopping $40,000 in monthly child support from Spears, says, "Every time the phone rings, I worry that there will be devastating news." I don't want my sons to wake up one morning and find that their mother has overdosed."

The media broke the news that she has allowed her children to move to Hawaii with Federline, in which case she is still required to pay child support until they turn 23.

Spears recently deleted her Instagram account, where she had posted numerous eye-catching semi-nudes.
