In the latest Barbie trailer, Margot Robbie experiences an existential crisis and is arrested

Watch the new Barbie trailer to see Margot Robbie's Barbie going through an existential crisis. Ken from Ryan Gosling? Ken, that is all.

When the clip begins, everything is normal in the brightly coloured realm of Barbie Land—at least, until Barbie asks her fellow dolls if they ever consider death. Strange occurrences start, but which is the most concerning? bare feet!

The other dolls are in a tizzy because Barbie's heels are no longer arched. She then enlists the aid of Barbie, played by Kate McKinnon, who gives her the advice to travel to the "real world" in order to learn "the truth about the universe." Ken had sneaked into the backseat without her knowledge. The two quickly find themselves in difficulty, and both of them are arrested.

Barbie and Ken's appearance in the real world might be "catastrophic," according to Will Ferrell's toy company CEO.

The footage reads, "If you love Barbie, this movie is for you." "This movie is for you if you despise Barbie."

Ryan Gosling and Dua Lipa will both appear on the soundtrack, along with Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Haim, Tame Impala, Ice Spice, and Dominic Fike, according to information released by Warner Bros. on Thursday.

The next live-action movie is directed by Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the script with Noah Baumbach. Barbie and Ken are portrayed by Robbie and Gosling in the lead roles, with further iterations of the characters played by Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Nicola Coughlan, Hari Nef, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.

Robbie, who is also a producer on the picture, admitted it was "really f---ing hard" to persuade Warner Bros. and Mattel, "two very nervous ginormous companies," to give Gerwig and Baumbach complete creative authority.

"What is their strategy, they inquired? How will they proceed? What will it be about? What will she say? " In Robbie's memory. They are asking a tonne of questions.

In the interview, Gerwig and Baumbach referred to the writing process as "open". "There really was this kind of open, free road that we could keep building," Baumbach remarked. When you write something, it's like playing with dolls, and in this case, of course, there was an added layer since they were dolls.

The movie Barbie opens on July 21. View the most recent trailer here.
