Stranger Things Season 5 Excites Fans with New Addition: Linda Hamilton Joins the Cast in an Exciting Role

Stranger Things • Linda Hamilton • Netflix • The Terminator:
During Netflix's TUDUM fan event in São Paulo, Brazil, it was announced that Linda Hamilton, famous for her role as Sarah Connor in The Terminator franchise, will be joining the cast of Stranger Things for its fifth season. While no specific details about her character have been revealed, Hamilton's addition adds another iconic sci-fi figure from the 80s to the popular Netflix series.

Linda Hamilton gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Sarah Connor in the original 1984 film, The Terminator, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. She reprised her role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and provided voice-over work for Terminator Salvation (2009). Her return as Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) was met with great enthusiasm from fans.

Aside from her Terminator fame, Hamilton is also known for her role as Catherine Chandler in the television series Beauty and the Beast (1987-1990), which earned her critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination.

Stranger Things has a history of featuring beloved 80s icons, with Robert Englund, known for portraying Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, appearing in season four. Englund played the character Victor Creel, a former resident of Creel House who suffered a tragic loss at the hands of the Stranger Things villain.

Other notable 80s actors who have made appearances in the series include Sean Astin from The Goonies, who played Joyce's boyfriend Bob in season two, and Cary Elwes, known for his role in The Princess Bride, who portrayed the "sleazy" Mayor Larry Kline in season three.

The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, previously stated that they would not be introducing new characters in the fifth and final season. However, it seems they couldn't resist the opportunity to bring in one more nostalgic cast member to add to the show's farewell season.
