In October Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Comes to American Cinemas through Concert Film

Missing out on tickets for Taylor Swift's historic U.S. stadium tour? You're in for a treat, and those who attended can relive the magic. "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" is set to hit theaters nationwide this autumn, premiering on Friday, the 13th of October.

This isn't your typical one or two-night concert film experience. AMC Theatres plans to screen the film at all its U.S. locations, offering multiple showings on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the initial run. Many of these screenings will be in IMAX and Dolby Cinema, ensuring Taylor Swift's larger-than-life presence. The film will also grace Cinemark and Regal screens in the U.S., with more theaters and chains likely to join in.

Taylor Swift shared her excitement on social media, calling "The Eras Tour" the most electric experience of her life. Starting October 13th, fans can enjoy the concert film in North American theaters. Tickets are available at amctheatres.com, and Swift encourages fans to wear Eras-themed attire, bring friendship bracelets, and join in singing and dancing.

Ticket prices are numerically aligned with Swift's style: $19.89 for adults (plus tax), $13.13 for children and seniors on standard screens. Imax and Dolby Cinema showings will have additional charges.

Will exhibitors be prepared for the potential Swiftie frenzy? AMC has taken precautions to prevent website crashes, having upgraded their systems to handle the expected surge in ticket purchases. However, given Taylor Swift's immense popularity, some delays and waiting times are still possible.

To discourage resellers, AMC has implemented a no-passes, no-refunds policy for this event. AMC is not only an exhibitor but also the distributor, making the film available to unaffiliated theaters, marking a new venture for AMC Entertainment. Other theaters, including Cinemark, Regal, Cineplex in Canada, and Cinepolis in Mexico, have already signed up to show the film, with more expected before October. Variance Films is assisting with bookings for non-AMC locations.

The mystery surrounding the additional cameras at Swift's SoFi Stadium concerts in L.A. has been solved. Speculation was rife that Swift was planning a big-screen release, considering the impact it could have on the box office. While AMC is a key partner, the concert film will not be exclusive to their screens. AMC will present it to other theaters, as well.

No international engagements have been announced yet, as the Eras Tour won't go beyond the Americas until 2024. Swift's upcoming year will be spent touring Europe, Japan, Australia, and other regions. Her camp likely believes that fans with tickets for those shows won't rush to see the movie version beforehand. Many fans worldwide have already seen parts of her three-and-a-half-hour set via unauthorized fan livestreams, which drove resale prices up during the U.S. tour.

The film is directed by Sam Wrench, known for his work with top musicians, including Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and BTS.

The runtime listed on AMC's ticketing site is 2 hours and 45 minutes, slightly shorter than the live set length. The film includes a "secret songs" mini-set, adding to the excitement.

Fans eager to secure tickets can visit AMC's website, where a short queue awaits, or purchase them on Fandango.

While there's no official word on how long the film will be in theaters, tickets are available for shows through November 4th, mainly on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a special Halloween night showing on a Tuesday.
