White collar boxing fight, proposal and knockout at Crown Towers in 2023

At the Gobsmacked Rumble, there were many theatrical performances, but none sparkled like a marriage proposal in the ring.

The 10th installment of the Vegas-style white collar boxing stoush drew a sold-out audience of more than 1000 spectators to the big ballroom of Crown Towers.

A multitude of spectators wearing black ties watched on from the sidelines as thirty rookie fighters engaged in 15 nail-biting bouts during which they lost blood, sweat, and tears.

After the final and most anticipated match of the evening between Ronny Harvey and Brezze Hita, the biggest surprise of the evening occurred.

Harvey's girlfriend Megan Tilbury came up on stage to congratulate him after he announced his victory, but she experienced the shock of her life when he got down on one knee and proposed to her, adding some more glitz to the boxing ring.

According to the event's promoter Glen Austin, this was the first time in the history of the rumble that a contestant has proposed.

The loud applause from the audience for the newlyweds started the after-party, which lasted until 1.30am.

The corporate citizens that took part in the struggle deservedly celebrated.

Most of them had never boxed before and went through a rigorous eight-week training programme at Counterbalance Fitness in Booragoon.

They received instruction from a group of seasoned boxers, including Austin, who has earned the moniker "6 Million Man" of Perth thanks to his outstanding record.

The winner of the "fight of the night" award went to Sarah Cook because of her skill and improvement. More than one-third of the rookies were female.

Another mind-blowing incident occurred minutes after Mason Zuin and Joe D'Ortona entered the ring when D'Ortona was eliminated through technical knockout.

D'Ortona did not sustain any serious injuries, but the officials decided the game couldn't be completed in a safe manner.

The Saba Rose Button Foundation and rehabME Intensive Collective will benefit from funds raised during the Gobsmacked Perth Corporate Rumble.

The next day following the incident, the final sum of money was still being calculated.
