Despite reports that they owe $1.1M in unpaid taxes, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are divorcing

For Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann, it's over. One of the report confirmed that the former Real Housewives of Atlanta actress filed for divorce due to the couple's financial difficulties. They have four children together and have been married for eleven years. The news was released shortly after TMZ claimed they owing over $1 million in back taxes.

Documents obtained by TMZ on Monday show that Zolciak claims April 30 as the date of separation. According to the Don't Be Tardy actor, the marriage is "irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation." She is requesting joint legal and primary physical custody of the children. She asked for the legal reversion of her maiden name.

One of the media contacted a Zolciak representative, who declined to comment.

The former NFL player, 37, and Zolciak, 44, are parents to Kroy Jagger, 11, Kash, 10, and Kane and Kaia, identical twins, who are 9 years old. Brielle, 26, and Ariana Biermann, 21, are the two kids that Biermann officially adopted from previous relationships.

Legal records acquired by TMZ show that Zolciak and Biermann owe the IRS $1.1 million in back taxes, interest, and penalties for the years 2013, 2017, and 2018. Additionally, they allegedly owe the Georgian government $15,000 in unpaid taxes for 2018. In February, their house in the Atlanta region entered the foreclosure process.

When Bravo was filming a 2010 charity event, Zolciak and Biermann happened to be there. The following year, they got married and featured in their own spinoff, Don't Be Tardy, which ran from 2020 to 2021.

The secret to Zolciak's content marriage, she jokingly told E! News in November, is "lots of sex."

"Communication is perhaps one of the biggest secrets, in my opinion. I believe that choosing to love that person day in and day out is a choice, and frequently people are just so quick to give up," she said.
