Fans opinions after Demi Lovato was omitted from the Disney Channels Wand ID Compilation
Demi Lovato | Disney Channel | The Walt Disney Company | Jonas Brothers | Sonny with a Chance | Camp Rock | Selena Gomez: In honour of the channel's 40th anniversary, Disney Channel launched April with a "Wand ID Compilation," which featured a montage of some of today's top performers doing the classic drawing of Mickey Mouse's ears with a wand.

While the clip featured a number of famous faces, including Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Raven-Symoné, Jenna Ortega, the Jonas Brothers, Zendaya, and many others, viewers realised someone was absent. The initial ID compilation did not include Demi Lovato, who was a mainstay on the Disney Channel in the late 2000s thanks to TV shows like Sonny With a Chance and the Camp Rock movies.

While the reason Lovato was excluded from the 40th anniversary celebration clip has not been made public by Disney Channel, the "29" singer has been outspoken about some of their challenging experiences growing up in the DC bubble, which they referred to as "Disney High."

It was disclosed earlier this year that Lovato has started directing their first-ever feature film, which would be available to stream on Hulu sometime in 2024. According to a press release, the pop artist will collaborate with Nicola Marsh to co-direct Child artist, a Hulu Original documentary that aims to "deconstruct the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world's most famous former child stars."

The Disney Channel alum stated in a statement, "There is no better film or topic for my directorial debut than this story, which is close to home." "Our initiative illuminates crucial lessons about growing up in the spotlight, learning to respect our limits, and taking an active role in shaping our own futures. I'm humbled to have the opportunity to learn from those who have experienced the singularity of kid celebrity and share their stories in our movie.
