Blink-182|Travis Barker|Tom DeLonge|Mark Hoppus: Due to a ring finger injury sustained by drummer Travis Barker in the previous month, Blink-182 had to cancel their concerts on their South American tour. He broke the finger during practise, necessitating emergency surgery and delaying the band's first tour with guitarist and singer Tom DeLonge since 2014.
To provide Rolling Stone with an update on his rehabilitation, Barker said: He claims, "I'm recovering really, really well." A week after his operation last month, his cast was removed, and he began physical therapy to "expedite the process" of his recovery.
He admits that despite having a fractured finger, he recorded the album's final three songs. The band has not set an official release date for their upcoming LP as of the time of publication. The North American portion of the world tour is scheduled to begin in early May.
On their most recent inclusion in the Coachella lineup, Barker states, "We will be playing before anyone is expecting us to play."
DeLonge left Blink-182 in 2015 with the intention of spending more time working on his organisation, To the Stars...Academy of Arts & Sciences, which looks into UFOs. In order to complete the lineup, Barker and singer/bassist Mark Hoppus recruited Matt Skiba from the Alkaline Trio. Blink released two albums with Skiba.
Hoppus revealed in 2021 that he had been given a cancer diagnosis. He and Barker had started meeting with DeLonge at this time to reestablish their connection. Hoppus was deemed cancer-free the next year, and DeLonge formally rejoined the group.
